INTRODUCTION |

The Joint School Science Exhibition Preparation Committee (hereafter the J.S.S.E.P.C. or the Preparation Committee) is a registered, charitable organization (registered in Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of section 5A(1) of the Societies Ordinance) which is composed of a group of students who come from more than 150 local renowned secondary schools and have a strong interest in science. For the past forty-seven years, the Joint School Science Exhibitions were held successfully by the Preparation Committee. Having the greatest number of participating schools, the J.S.S.E.P.C. is one of the most prestigious joint-school organizations in Hong Kong.

THEME OF THE YEAR

The four seasons accentuating the changes in human behaviour and ecology have unique climatic features. Weather conditions such as humidity and temperatures vary in each season. Human living styles and seasons are inter-connected and thus daily practices keep on changing. Nevertheless, inconvenience still exists due to the limitations of existing products. Bearing the theme “Seasons”, the 48th Joint School Science Exhibition Preparation Committee hopes that students will achieve breakthroughs from existing daily use products and improve our quality of life by their ingenious inventions. Ultimately, with the innovative breakthroughs, our livelihood will be more desirable with the scientific improvements brought by, especially when undergoing weather changes from spring to summer, autumn and winter.
